Updates on Our Mission

Dear friends and supporters,

After several weeks of negotiations and much prayer, we are celebrating a partial victory in our campaign to free a missionary imprisoned in Afghanistan. This has been carried out in partnership with friends and organisations from the United States and Germany. Thanks to the generosity of many, we have managed to raise US$6,000 – essential funds to cover the legal and logistical costs associated with her extraction. We are still working to raise the cost of the air ticket from Kabul to Brazil.

However, her actual release will only take place once she recovers her official documents, a process that still requires patience and continued intercession. This journey reminds us of the resilience of faith amid adversity, and we are grateful for every contribution that has brought us this far.

Our friends in the Middle East are also under considerable tension because of the events in the region. Some have been evacuated, while others have chosen to remain. Our phones and our time have been heavily occupied with calls to listen, share burdens and pray together.

In parallel, we are preparing our next trip in April, this time to Albania. There, we will visit 22 missionaries scattered from the north to the south of the country, which will require extensive travel to cover all the regions. Our goal is to strengthen relationships, offer spiritual and emotional support, and witness the impact of the Gospel in communities that have emerged from decades of forced atheism under communism. This mission is not merely geographical; it is an opportunity to sow hope in fertile soil.

Here at home, Casa Selah continues to be a beacon of welcome. Receiving people in need fills us with joy as we see lives transformed by love and hospitality. It is a privilege to share our space and resources, creating an environment of peace and restoration.

We cannot close without expressing our deep gratitude for your support – both in prayer and in financial contributions. You are indispensable partners in this work, and we ask that you continue to intercede for safety, provision and eternal fruit.

In Christ,

Sandro & Gislene
